Curriculum Program

  1. Bachelor’s Degree Program

This department offers Public Health’s fundamental courses and professional courses.  Fundamental courses include Fundamental Medicine, Introduction to Public Health and Practice in Public Health.  Professional courses include five major fields:  Health Administration, Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene, Health Education and Behavioral Science, Hospital Management, Biostatistics and Epidemiology.  Required courses are a total of 90 credit hours, and elective courses are a total of 76 credit hours.  The requirement for granting a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health is a total of 140 credit hours (includes 4 credit hours in each of the 3 major fields of General Education, with a total of 12 credit hours; the maximum accepted credit hours from other departments is 6 credit hours).  Based on personal interest, one may choose to have a minor, a double major, or enter the teacher education program or other related courses.

  1. Master’s Degree Program

This department’s Master’s degree program has an emphasis on Applied Scientific Research.  Professional courses not only include fundamental theory classes, but also incorporate integration of technological knowledge and training on research methods to better respond to the demand of social health promotion and environmental health developments. The design of the Master’s degree program is divided into three main categories: Core courses, Professional courses and Elective courses.  The required credit hours for graduation are 33. (This includes 6 credit hours for Master’s thesis)
