水在坦尚尼亞計畫是從台灣研發製造飲用水的有效設備,栽培對於永續發展有興趣和充滿服務熱情的大學生,將水核心、水細胞、水教育、水灌溉和水保育傳遞到萬里之外的坦尚尼亞。期望在2023-2027的五年時間,以安全衛生飲用水和台灣產品鼓勵徒步取水的小女孩們就學,將缺水貧脊的村落轉變為綠意盎然的水村莊。藉由教會的指導和協助,建設非洲水村莊的環境永續發展。

1. 水核心是水在坦尚尼亞計畫的心臟,主要原因是非洲缺水的現況,如果可以在適當村莊內提供穩定、安全衛生的飲用水,配合適量淡水灌溉,希望能將活水注入缺水貧瘠的土地,做適當的環境改變。兩個水核心的預定位置為教堂與學校,主要原因為水核心雖可設定自行運作,但可能仍須訓練後之人員進行即時維修,教堂神職人員和學校教師均是極為合適的人選。

2. 水細胞為小型砂濾系統,可將地表原水進行簡易過濾成為可使用之清水,適用於偏遠地區和游牧民族之用。

3. 水教育是以安全衛生飲用水和臺灣優質產品作為誘因,鼓勵當地村莊徒步取水的小孩至當地學校接受教育,學習水相關之淨化、消毒、使用、灌溉和健康方面知識。

4. 水灌溉是將水核心分離後之高濁度淡水作為灌溉用水,藉由高地勢之位能,引導灌溉水至相關農作區域,提高農產量和飼養牲畜。水灌溉藉由增加農作綠化,提高非洲碳權,在進行碳抵換或碳交易後,提供水村莊之永續經營。

5. 水保育是以土壤堆肥和淡水灌溉,增加村莊樹木植栽和土地保水。將原本荒蕪土地,在經由水教育知識傳導和水灌溉之夜間淡水澆灌,成為農作興盛和綠意盎然的村莊。

The objectives of the Water in Tanzania (WIT) mission are to invent a green-power water-treatment device to continuously produce qualified drinking water and irrigation water simultaneously. Meanwhile in Taiwan, the mission cultivates enthusiastic college students in environmental sustainability by training languages, water analysis and treatment, physical strength and living skills in Africa. The WIT program consists of water nuclei, water cells, water education, water irrigation and water conservation for the purpose of water village with agricultural harvests and raising livestocks.

In the years of 2023-2027, the WIT mission will be executed voluntarily in a chosen village in Tanzania through the assistance of local churches. The mission encourages local children, especially carrying-water-by foot girls, to accept education at local schools by providing daily drinking water and commercial products from Taiwan. The gradual transition of the chosen village from a drought scene to a green environment can be expected. Through the guidance and assistance of local church and school, the environment sustainable development of the water village can be expected.

1. Water nuclei: The water nuclei form the heart of the WIT program. By applying green power, pumping groundwater, then treating and filtrating to produce qualified drinking water and subsequently elute secondary water for irrigation will make significant environmental changes at a drought village. The water nuclei will locate at local church and school because clergy and school staffs are reliable and dependable personnels for water nuclei routine checks and maintenance.

2. Water cells: The water cells are designated for the household water usage at remote areas that water nuclei can not directly provide service. The water cell is a 20-Liter plastic tank consisting of 15 cm sand filtration. By pouring natural water on the top of the water cell, turbid water can be purified by the top biofilm and the underneath sand bed.

3. Water education: The parasites and impurity in water causes diseases spreading at local villages. Through water education, microscopy demonstration and water treatment classes can be taught at local schools. The importance of clean and safe drinking water is the crucial health promotion for local people.

4. Water irrigation: The prosperity of a village depends on the agricultural production in Africa. The water nuclei's secondary freshwater irrigation and soil fertilization modification are crucial at nearby areas for agricultural production and livestock farming. Water irrigation increases regional caron right in Africa. Through carbon-offset or carbon-trade systems, the sustainability of the water nuclei and related water programs can be executed.

5. Water Conservation: Water conservation is very important, especially in water resources extremely limited areas. The wise uses and applications of the limit water by primary, secondary and tertiary usage will enhance the water resource conservation and sustainability at the local village.
